The Notes: Week of December 1 - December 5, 2025

Hello, Neighbors!  Welcome to our very own winter wonderland in late November/early December!  I hope that the weather didn't negatively impact any of you or your friends and loved ones yesterday or today.  We're all in this "learning how to deal with snow again" phase together.  So there's that.

Thanks for tuning in for this week's alderman blog post.  It will be another very short one as there looks to be very little to remark over on this week's Full Council Meeting Week.

One non-full-council meeting on the calendar has been cancelled so... it's just Wednesday's meeting this week!

Wednesday, 12/03/2025

City of Appleton Common Council - 7pm  If you're a regular reader of this blog, you know that whatever was discussed in the last Committee Meetings Week will be what shows up on this week's agenda for the full council.  Also if you're a regular reader of this blog, you read last week's quite short (and sweet!) Committee Meetings Week alderman blog post and know that not much happened last week.  Here are the only things on this week's meeting agenda:
  • From the Mayor's Office:  The mayor is requesting the reappointment of some citizen volunteers to the following committees -- Advisory Panel on Sustainability, Parade Committee, and Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

  • From the Parks and Recreation Committee:  Three members (a quorum) of this committee met last week and recommended for approval the proposed 2026 golf rates at Reid Golf Course.  As was mentioned last week, the proposal includes small increases in all daily fees for junior class rates and a rate increase of $375 for an annual pass for businesses.  So the council will be asked to approve this recommendation.
And that is it!

As I always ask... Do you have any questions about "any of the above" (hee hee!) for me?  If you do -- or if you have any other questions related to city government -- please reach out and let me know.  I'm always happy to hear from you with your questions and feedback.

Thanks for tuning in today.  I hope that your week ahead will be a good one and that we all adapt quickly to the winter weather once again.  I hope you'll be back again next week for perhaps a bit longer (maybe?!) alderman blog post.
